The 3-day Disney-centric convention known as the D23 Expo wrapped up last night after giving fans of Disney Parks and Disney properties alike a wealth of information, and we wanted to share what we learned from the Expo with you! Now, some of these don’t have any visuals due to cell phones and electronic devices being collected for the big reveals, but we will give you as much information as we can! Ready for it? Let’s do this!

Powerline Concert at the Goofy Movie 20th Anniversary Reunion

What better way to celebrate the magic of the 20-year old Goofy film with a live action concert to match the end of the film? Well, fans in attendance were in the the surprise treat! Check out the video below, and feel free to sing along!

Big Hero 6 Headed to Kingdom Hearts 3

We were expecting big news out of the Kingdom Hearts 3 announcement, and needless to say that we were “satisfied with our care,” when it came to it. Series Executive Producer Shinji Hashimoto, Larry Sparks and Kaori Takasue were on hand to make the announcement to excited fans that the game was going to include the world of Big Hero 6, and got our imaginations running with this awesome piece of concept art for the game itself. Sora riding on Baymax, up in the air fighting against…a Dark Baymax?! Yes please!

Civil War Ramps Up with New Footage

Ah Marvel, you come out with guns blazing and none of us non-Expo goers can see it! It’s quite alright though, as it helps build up the excitement. There have been plenty of accounts of what was shown in the sizzle reel to the 7k fans in attendance during the Disney Live-Action film panel, and gosh is the information positively mouth-watering. According to the folks over at Mashable,

The long reel from Civil War stole the show — first we see Falcon, Cap and Black Widow taking on Crossbones (Frank Grillo) and his goons in an open square. Falcon (Anthony Mackie, who took the D23 stage with Chris Evans to introduce the footage) has an upgraded flight suit with new combat capabilities and the same surveillance tech he displayed in Ant-Man.

Crossbones is focused squarely on getting to Cap, the guy he considers responsible for his badly burned body. With some help from Cap’s friends, Crossbones is subdued, and peels off his skull-themed helmet to deliver a message: “You know, he remembered you. Your pal, your buddy, your Bucky,” he says menacingly to Cap. And Cap is distressed to hear that.

More! We need more now! According to Anthony Mackie,  the film only has about a week left of shooting to do, so we could be seeing more details in the very near future! For more on the Marvel panel, head over HERE to read up on the details!

A Toy Story 4 Love Story

When the announcement was made that there would be a fourth installment to the Toy Story franchise, it was actually pretty difficult news to take. How could they pick back up from what so many of our generation felt was a great end for the toys we grew up with in the film? Well, more details came out about Toy Story 4 over the weekend and fans of the films are in for a story of love once the film is released. According to the ever creative John Lasseter over at Pixar (you may have heard of him,) will be a love story “centered around Woody and Bo Peep.” In our opinion, this could be a very cool dynamic we have not seen before. Movie-goers were always treated to the idea that these two were a couple in their own right, with flirting here and there, but we never saw anything more to their relationship. Now we will, and now we will wait patiently for it to happen.

Star Wars Land

No, you read that correctly. Rumors had been swirling around the internet the weeks prior to D23 about Disneyland expanding into new areas of Anaheim and what could possibly go in those locations. Could it be Marvel? How about Star Wars? Could it be something new? Disney was quick to squash those rumors, only because they had something big up their sleeves. On Saturday, August 15th, The Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced to an audience of more than 7,500 fans that Star Wars-themed lands will be coming to Disneyland park in Anaheim, CA, & Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL. This means that fans would be able to fully immerse themselves into the world of Star Wars like never before. So what does that mean?

Ambitious plans to bring Star Wars to life in the two parks include creating Disney’s largest single-themed land expansions ever at 14-acres each, transporting guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before wild space where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life.

“I am thrilled to announce the next chapter in the long and exciting history between Disney Parks and Star Wars,” said Iger. “We are creating a jaw-dropping new world that represents our largest single themed land expansion ever. These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet, including an epic Star Wars adventure that puts you in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.”

The two lands on either coast will become one of the most authentic ways to experience Star Wars like never before.  Each of the locations will have two signature attractions, one of which includes the ability to take the controls of the Millennium Falcon on a customized secret mission. Basically everything we ever wanted. But wait, there is more! According to the presentation, every store and restaurant will be operated by local inhabitants, “nothing will be out of character.” That means humans, humanoids, aliens, droids, and more will be roaming the streets, visiting the cantina, and even experiencing the tastes of Star Wars. We want our Blue Milk and we want it now.  If all of those details did not excite you, the following photos will do the trick.
