E3, otherwise known as the Electronic Entertainment Expo, is barreling its way towards Los Angeles, and so is the flurry of news, rumors, and expectations from the biggest names in Electronic entertainment. Let’s dive in to what is out there in the ether than the attendees will get to (hopefully in some cases) see!
The Nintendo event always brings some exciting announcements for the fans of the systems and games, so this should be no different than previous years!
Want some even cooler news?
For the first time in 25 years, some of Nintendo’s biggest fans will get to go head-to-head in a gaming showdown for the ages. Join a worldwide audience by watching the live stream on Sunday, June 14.
Just how do you enter? Nintendo wants you to get right into the action! You can compete for the highest score on Championship Mode in the Ultimate NES™ Remix game for the Nintendo 3DS™ family of systems (games and systems will be provided). The top scorer from each of the eight regional competitions will move on for a chance to participate in the final event on June 14 in Los Angeles. You can download that registration form here.
Nintendo President Satoru Iwata Will Not Be In Attendance
But Mario and Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto will be! According to the folks over at GameSpot:
“Nintendo’s focus for E3 this year will be showcasing the many games we have coming for both Wii U andNintendo 3DS. Mr. Miyamoto and other members of our development team will be in Los Angeles to explain these games and the unique experiences that each offers.”
“Mr. Iwata’s focus in this period will be on other areas of our business that require his presence in Japan. While he remains in Japan, Mr. Miyamoto and our developers will lead the effort at E3 focusing on our games. Mr. Iwata will be in constant contact with the team in Los Angeles and will be monitoring the reaction to our product offerings from our partners at the show and by consumers publicly.”
Fitting that we bring up SE right after Nintendo! It looks as though that Square Enix is rescheduling their planned E3 showcase to that it does not class with the Nintendo Event. I would say that is good planning on their part. The event will be at 10am PDT on Tuesday June 16.
Microsoft has confirmed its E3 media briefing will take place at 9:30am on Monday June 15. What will they be bringing with them? We can only assume there will be some action for Halo 5 and maybe some updates on that Tomb Raider game. Because we’re a sucker for Lara Croft.
Could Microsoft bring some new software or accessory for E3 that no one knows about? Well, that’s what E3 is for. But with a lack of announcements on that front, that may not be the case.
Sony has announced that its E3 media briefing will take place at 6:30pm PDT on Monday June 15. Do we know much more else besides that? Nope!
Monday is going to be a busy day for announcements! The Ubisoft E3 press conference will take place on on Monday, June 15. The press conference will be held at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles at 3 PM PDT. Expect some more news on Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate and more!
Well, this one is sure to cause some excitement! In its first ever showcase at E3, who knows what Bethesda has up their sleeves! The showcase was announced with the following image, which many people have been studying to see what or who is missing!
Who is missing from this image that is causing the internet to rumble so loudly? Well, Vault Boy from the Fallout series. Now, should we really take this absence as something will be announced? No one really knows. What we do know is that the internet and gaming community want another Fallout game, and this would be the perfect stage to announce it.
What we do know that Bethesda is bringing though, away from all the speculation, is the new Doom incarnation! Check the 11-second teaser for the teaser right below!
As we searched for news to bring right to you, we came across an article that made our eyes light up and hope for it to be true! Scott Tailford over at WhatCulture.com caught my eye with the title “Crash Bandicoot to Return at E3 2015?” You can read the full article here. It may be a slim chance, but we really want to jump on some crates and bust some nitro if this is true!
Speaking in the earnings call yesterday, President Karl Slatoff re-iterated that Battleborn from Gearbox is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. He continued:
Battleborn is a first-person shooter with a deep roster of unique playbook heroes. Through the game’s accelerated character growth system, every hero can be fully experienced in a single story mode mission or multi-player match. Next month, Battleborn will be at E3 in a big way and we will have more news to share about the title prior to the show.
