Los Angeles con season is almost in full swing as cosplayers, artists, bloggers, and fans from all corners gear up for the fun, stress, pain, and paint-stained weeks ahead. Long Beach Comic Expo, a fan-favorite of many cosplayers and fans, gives us our dose of convention-going for February. From the same minds behind Long Beach Comic Con in the fall, LBCE will have hands on events, comics discussions, and cosplay a plenty.
Long Beach Comic Expo is an annual event held at the Long Beach Convention Center each spring. It’s a celebration of comic books and pop culture that showcases the exceptional works of talented writers, artists, illustrators and creators of all types of pop culture. At Long Beach Comic Expo you’ll find exhibitors promoting and selling all types of related products, as well as entertaining and educational programs, guest signings and meet & greet sessions with celebrities.

Planning out your convention programming schedule helps keep congoers from winding up frantic and disheveled–and often left out of a panel they had wanted to see. Make sure that doesn’t happen by studying LBCE’s easily-accessed, easy-to-read schedule of events.
Familiarize yourself with the rooms that will host panels, and recognize that they all have clever, cute names attached to them. I mean, Knerds of the Round Table. I want to bask in the beauty of that room’s name. Also, it’s playing host to a slew of Girl Scout events, and on my honor I will always be a girl scout at heart.
You can also check out Cosplay Closet, the Thunderdome, Rumble Room, The Final Frontier, or the Danger Room. And just wait, the programming is even cooler than the room names!
Take a look at what LBCE has in store for guests in the handy schedules below!
This con boasts an impressive number of special guests, ranging from cosplayers to creators. An area dedicated to cosplay, the Cosplay Corner, will play weekend home to some dedicated fan favorites, including Angi Viper, Elisabeth Rage, Chris Villain, Amber Arden, Ivy Doomkitty, and Alexandria the Red. Creators and onscreen talent are also making a strong showing, with a heavy emphasis on comic content creators across the board. Legendary creator Len Wein, Greg Weisman, Christina Rice, Peter Shinkoda, and fan-favorite Alan Tudyk are just a few of the names that will be present during this February event. Be sure to check out the full line-up on the LBCE website.
Many of these special guests will be available for photos and are offering photo-op packages, which can be purchased here before the con begins, or onsite for cash (if spaces are still available).
What events/attendees most strike your fancy? Where do you think you’ll find yourself throughout the majority of the show?
We honestly can’t decide, which means we’ll likely be a little of everywhere. See you there!
