Last year, foodies and sweet tooth enthusiasts lined up in Pasadena, California at the Pasadena Convention center for the first L.A. Cookie Con & Sweets Show. This year, the convention has moved into prime real estate in the center of Los Angeles, calling the Los Angeles Convention Center its new home.

More than 4,000 people attended the convention in its inaugural year, and the feedback that the convention heard was taken to heart. Cookie Con attendees asked for more space, more time, and more exhibitors to make their their sweet-filled day even sweeter! With the move to the Los Angeles Convention Center, L.A. Cookie Con possesses three times the square footage of the original event, with three times the capacity and room for 150 more exhibitors. That’s a lot more chocolate chips in the cookie!

Planning on attending this weekend, February 6th and 7th ? There is so much for your eyes (and stomachs) to take in!

L.A. Cookie Con & Sweets Show Programming

When you’re not on the look out for the Celebrity Guests of L.A. Cookie Con & Sweets Show, there will be plenty of programming and things for you to take in during your sweet stay!

Younger attendees of the show will have plenty to do on their hands from the likes of Otis Spunkmeyer. In the Otis Spunkmeyer Kid’s Zone, the young ones will find activities such as face painting by Urban Sitter, cookie decorating by Baking with Melissa, activities by Mommy Nearest and celebrity appearances by stars of Masterchef Junior and YouTube. All of this comes with the ticket!

Posted on the L.A. Cookie Con & Sweets Show Instagram account yesterday, early fans and those excited for the upcoming Disney film, Zootopia, will have the chance to see one of its characters sculpted from…SUGAR.

Fernanda Abarca Cakes, along with special guests, will be crafting the Zootopia character Gazelle, so make sure you come to the show to check out the awesomeness that will definitely ensue!

There will be Baking Demos, Workshops, and more throughout the course of the two days. Don’t worry! You don’t have to be a master baker to get the most out of the show. Programming for beginners through advanced will cover baking and decorating topics including fondant work, buttercream, chocolate, sugar flowers, pie crust, puff pastry, vegan/raw desserts and more. If you wanted to pick up some tips and tricks, or just brush up on something you’ve forgotten, you’ve come to the right place.

Catch the 2nd Annual World Dessert Table Championships!

Professional bakers and confectioners from all over the world will display their entries in the 2nd Annual World Dessert Table Championships, all competing for the prize of Grand Champion and recognition as artist of the best dessert table, also known as dessert buffet, in the world.  The theme for this year’s competition is ‘Roaring Twenties’. This event is open to the public and included with your admission. Applications are now OPEN.

Celebrity Guests!

A convention would be nothing without its special guests, and this one has the works when it comes to the world of cookies, sweets, and more! Guests of the convention will be able to see these celebrity and special guests in person, as they do autograph signings, onstage appearances and demonstrations!

On Saturday, “King of Cakes” Ron Ben-Israel, star of “Sweet Genius” on Food Network will be making his return to the convention for the second year. According to the L.A. Cookie Con website, Ben-Israel will be at the convention “to meet and greet and take selfies with fans, conduct a panel with Q&A on his journey from professional dancer to world renowned cake artist, and judge our 2nd Annual World Dessert Table Championships and other competitions.” Sounds like a fun time can be had with Ron around!

The “King of Cakes” will also be on hand to give VIPs, Press, and Professional attendees a demonstration of his signature sugar flowers on our Main Stage at 10:30am on Saturday. Lucky folks!

On Sunday, New York Times bestselling author and g online personality Rosanna Pansino will entertain guests in the way she does best, doing it Nerdy! The creator and host of “Nerdy Nummies” will meet with fans and appear on stage. Not familiar with Pansino? Check out her Youtube Channel and try not to drool over all of the delicious things she cooks up!

But wait, there’s more!

What sort of convention that centers around the likes of cookies, cakes, sweets, and the like would be complete without the folks over at Charm City Cakes!

We have something special up our sleeve: We’ve ordered an amazing cake for some of our lucky attendees to enjoy on Saturday, February 6. The cake’s unveiling will appear on Food Network’s “Cake Masters”. Delivering the cake? None other than Duff Goldman himself.

You can also expect Emmy-winning actress Sarah Michelle Gellar at L.A. Cookie Con & Sweets Show. You read that right, Sarah Michelle Gellar! She’ll be there as the co-founder of Foodstirs.

Fans of cooking television are also in for a treat! You’ll also find Claudia Sandoval, Masterchef Season 6 Winner at L.A. Cookie Con.

But wait, there’s still more!

These are just some of the special guests listed on the L.A Cookie Con & Sweets Show website, with many more listed. Head on over to the website here to see the full lineup!
