Jimmy Kimmel Live premiered the first official Assassin’s Creed trailer on Wednesday evening. The film, starring Michael Fassbender, follows Callum Lynch as he steps through the Animus to relive the adventures of his 15th century Spanish ancestor, Aguilar, a Master Assassin deep in the ranks of a secret organization whose actions weave in and out of history–and whose battle with the opposing Templars rages into the present day.

Check out the highly stylized trailer, which feels extremely reminiscent of both gameplay and graphics while introducing a few very new–and very cool–ideas.

An official poster has also been released. Let us know what you think in the comments!

Assassin’s Creed will be in theaters December 21st, 2016.
