Anti-Heroes

 Not every hero has a strict moral compass, and many of our favorite characters take a journey through ethical gray areas. It is these journeys that allow readers to find a lasting connection with quasi-heroes. Moderator James Robinson (Heaven) leads panelists Cullen Bunn (The Sixth Gun), Neal Adams (Batman), Len Wein (Wolverine), and Dan Jurgens (Booster Gold) in a discussion of what it means to create and to love an anti-hero.(12:00pm – 1:00pm Room 207)

Big Hero 6: The Art of the Story

 Head of story Joe Mateo (Big Hero 6, Tangled), Brian Kesinger (Big Hero 6, Frozen), andNormand Lemay (Big Hero 6, Frozen) share how Disney Animation brings stories to life through the art of storyboarding, collaboration, and art. (12:00pm – 1:00pm Room 300AB)

Geeks Keepin’ It Hot! 

 Professional nerds square off in an epic trivia battle of the ages while discussing the hottest pop culture topics, including racial stereotyping, objectification, gender-bending, casting news, and more! Spanning comics, TV, film, and web, this discussion will be hilarious and outrageous, and will challenge your perspective on culture. Moderated by Tony B Kim (Crazy4ComicCon.com), this superpowered team will include Amy Ratcliffe (writer), Chris Gore (comedian), Ivy Doom Kitty (cosplayer),Andre Meadows (comedian), Rachel Lara (actress), Sean Long (toy professional),Tracy Doering (writer), and Emily Ong (cosplayer, Fashionista).  Image Comics: Where Creators Own Everything

What does it mean to be creator-owned? Ed Brubaker (The Fade Out), Eric Stephenson(They’re Not Like Us), Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), Becky Cloonan (Southern Cross), David Lapham (Stray Bullets), and Rick Remender (Black Science) discuss their decision to launch creator-owned series with Image Comics and what it means to have complete creative freedom for their work. (3:00pm – 4:00pm Room 300AB)

Orphan Black: BBC America

 The cast and co-creator reveal exclusive season three footage of BBC America’s award-winning original series Orphan Black. Ahead of the April 18 season premiere on BBC AMERICA, co-creator and writer Graeme Manson joins stars Jordan Gavaris(Felix), Dylan Bruce (Paul), Maria Doyle Kennedy (Mr. S), Evelyne Brochu (Delphine), and Kristian Bruun (Donnie) for a sneak peek and Q&A session. You can catch up on the first two seasons of Orphan Black via On Demand, all digital platforms, and streaming on Amazon Prime. (6:00pm – 7:00pm Room 300AB)

Fairy Dust: LGBTQ Disney Fandom

 Disney is popular around the world, and Disney characters, films, comics, media, and theme parks are especially popular among the LGBTQ community. Young or old, LGBTQ folk identify with the stories, characters, fantasy and imagination. Since you are next door to the “Happiest Place on Earth,” join Prism Comics and Disney fans as they explore why the queer community loves all things Disney. Panelists include Dusty Sage (founder and CEO of MiceChat.com), Tommy Kovac (Skelebunnies, Wonderland),Momma (Anaheim Gay Days, expert on Disney Parks and Disneyana), Jimmy Sherfy(Disney cosplayer and animation enthusiast), Sarah Sterling (Disney fandom YouTuber, feminism and queer studies specialist), Joseph Titizian (Disney historian and featured blog writer), and Barry V (Disney cosplayer and animation enthusiast).
